This year the YBA will be holding a 'Trial Day' on the 4th August at York Railway Bowling & Social Club. The purpose of this Trial is to give players the opportunity to put themselves forward for consideration for selection for the County teams in the 2025 season.
The YBA Men's Team Manager, Sam Winter, currently makes his selection for County teams based upon a range of information but this Trial Day will offer some further useful data as the Trial will be marked in accordance with the marking system used by England International selectors. Markers will be on the rinks and observing every wood and instruction during the game.
This event will also offer individuals who wish to avail themselves of some evidence-based performance data, some information to assist their own personal development in the sport of bowls.
If you wish to be considered for this Trial Day on the 4th August (start time to be confirmed but around 11am concluding by 3pm) I would ask that you respond asap with the following information;
  1. Your name & Club
  2. The playing position you would prefer to be trialled at (please note - there is NO guarantee that you will play in your preferred playing position).
  3. Your email contact details
Club officials please bring this to the notice of all eligible players.
